Pentagon Freight Services Canada Ltd is currently seeking an experienced Freight Forwarder for our Edmonton location (in office). This permanent full time operations position will be responsible for arranging transportation from point of origin to destination, all modes of transport including import and export cargo. Applicants should only apply if they have a strong working knowledge of the following:
- Research and format quotations, including dimension/weight considerations, routing options and import/export requirements.
- Book and dispatch cargo, including complete transportation and customs documentation as required.
- Invoicing, costing and revenue calculation for each job file.
- Communicate timely and effectively with clients, colleagues and vendors.
- Develop and maintain customer and vendor relationships.
The successful candidate must:
- Have more than 3 years experience with a freight forwarder
- Have excellent customer service / communication skills, both oral and written.
- Have excellent computer skills, being proficient with Word, Excel and internet applications.
- Be able to work independently, being responsible for their own customer base.
- Understand the need for urgency and the ability to stay organized, focused and on task.
- Have a "can do" attitude and work as a team player.
