Valid Traffic Control Person certification from the BCCSA is required.
Responsibilities:
- Direct traffic flow to ensure the safety of workers, pedestrians, and motorists in and around construction sites.
- Implement traffic control plans following regulations and guidelines.
- Set up and maintain traffic control devices such as signs, cones, and barricades.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate traffic control activities.
- Monitor traffic patterns and adjust control measures as needed.
- Report any safety hazards or incidents promptly to supervisors.
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions while ensuring personal safety at all times.
Experience:
- Experience in traffic control or related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of paving operations, heavy equipment operation, and construction processes is advantageous.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills to interact with diverse stakeholders effectively.
- Physical fitness to perform duties that may involve lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges in a fast-paced construction setting.
