Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Community Support Worker to assist individuals with disabilities in their daily lives. This role involves providing personalized care, fostering independence, and promoting well-being within the community. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and mobility support
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each person's needs and goals
- Support clients in participating in community activities and social engagements
- Administer medication following prescribed schedules and safety protocols
- Use effective communication skills, including American Sign Language if applicable, to facilitate understanding and interaction
- Monitor and document clients' progress, health status, and any changes in behavior or condition
- Collaborate with family members, healthcare providers, and team members to ensure comprehensive support
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to promote independence and confidence
Qualifications
- Experience or training in special education or working with individuals with disabilities is preferred
- Knowledge of caregiving practices and medication administration is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills, including proficiency in American Sign Language (preferred) or willingness to learn
- Compassionate attitude with excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and patience
- Valid driver’s license is a plus for transportation responsibilities
- Prior experience in caregiving or related roles is beneficial but not required; training will be provided for qualified candidates
