As a family-oriented and well-established logistics company with a fleet of over 100 trucks, we specialize in container drayage, cross-border transport, intermodal services, warehousing, and line haul transportation. We're growing—and looking for a talented Planner to join our dynamic Dispatch team.
The Opportunity
As a Planner, you'll play a crucial role in optimizing fleet utilization, managing routes, coordinating shipments, and ensuring our services meet and exceed customer expectations. You’ll collaborate across teams and use your skills in route planning, compliance, and operations to drive performance and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, coordination, and scheduling of all fleet resources.
- Manage inbound and outbound load planning across highway, regional, and multi-provincial city fleets.
- Route shipments based on service agreements while maximizing payload efficiency.
- Monitor compliance with ELDs, Hours of Service, and relevant transportation regulations.
- Use KPIs and tools like Power BI to enhance planning and profitability.
- Build effective LTL and truckload shipments with attention to trailer pool management.
- Collaborate with Dispatch, Maintenance, and Customer Service teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Continuously seek process improvements to boost safety, service, and cost efficiency.
Qualifications
- 3+ years’ experience in route planning and dispatching (FTL/LTL environment preferred).
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and safety compliance.
- Proficient in Truckmate, Microsoft Office, and business intelligence tools.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
- Strong geographical knowledge of Canada and the U.S.
- Management and SOP development experience is an asset.
