ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for an enthusiastic, safety-conscious Project Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you’ll take ownership of earthworks and underground utility projects from kickoff through closeout — coordinating across clients, trades, engineers, and regulators while keeping schedules, budgets, and teams aligned. This role is well suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings both strong project management skills and a hands-on leadership style.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up and launch projects, including coordination with building departments, regulatory bodies, engineers, architects, and other consultants
- Manage project closeout, ensuring full completion and resolution of any outstanding construction or client issues
- Create, manage, and maintain project schedules including look-ahead schedules
- Liaise with clients, subtrades, and suppliers for scheduling, coordination, and pricing
- Review job costs and assist with evaluating and negotiating subtrade pricing
- Identify and investigate potential high-risk situations and provide solutions in the best interest of the project and company
- Ensure all team members understand project objectives, specifications, and head contract requirements
- Develop and implement cost-saving methods
- Lead handover meetings for newly assigned projects
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of direct experience with earthworks and underground utilities
- Strong critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all levels of an organization
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Flexibility to work extended hours and occasional weekends as required
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience acquiring City of Calgary permits and indemnifications (asset)
- Experience with temporary shutdowns and public notifications (asset)
- Familiarity with Heavy Bid, Heavy Job, and Vista Viewpoint (asset)
