- Summary:As a Cellar Hand, you will be integral to the wine production process, ensuring the quality and consistency of our products. Reporting to the Head Winemaker, your core responsibilities will include monitoring fermentation, managing inventory, and maintaining cleanliness in the cellar. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will be vital in upholding our standards. - Variable shift lengths/ Standard Hours 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 pm.
- Flexible schedule (Monday–Sunday, Days and/or Evenings during harvest).
- Job Responsibilities· Harvest & Fermentation Support: Prepare for harvest, process fruit, monitor fermentations, and manage additions to juice and wine.· Winemaking Operations: Operate equipment for processing grapes, juice, and wine, including pumps, de-stemmers, presses, and filtering equipment.· Juice & Wine Handling: Transfer, rack, inoculate, and blend wine and juice using pumps, hoses, and clamps.· Sanitation & Cleaning: Maintain cleanliness of work areas, tanks, and winery equipment, ensuring sanitation standards are met.· Quality & Record-Keeping: Collect samples, monitor fermentations, accurately record data, and follow standard operating procedures.· Equipment Operation: Work on the Crush Pad and in the Cellars to receive, sort, and press grapes.·
- Job Requirements· Cellar work experience preferred· Driver’s license required· Follows safe work procedures/practices; reports any unsafe working conditions/hazards to assigned Manager on Duty
