ABOUT
Lola Construction Management (LCM) and White Label Homes (WLH) is a small but experienced design-build and construction management office focused on highly detailed design solutions for high-end single family residential and small-scale commercial clients. We are a tight-knit team of experienced individuals. We offer employees the ability to grow within their role and take on additional responsibility, whatever their aspirations may be.
We provide a full service design and construction experience which aims to give clarity and surety throughout every step of the project. We achieve this with a thorough schematic design process, detailed design renderings and diligent construction drawing packages.
We offer our employees the ability to collaborate on a daily basis with clients, consultants, and our construction management team to gain valuable real world experience on construction sites and with trade contractors.
LCM/WLH employs a full time registered architect and allows its employees the opportunity to gain hours towards registration with the MAA or ABTAM.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
LCM/WLH is looking to expand its design team. We are in the market for a junior architect to work alongside our senior staff across design, documentation, and construction administration.
This is a role for a registered architect early in their career who wants breadth rather than a narrow lane. You will contribute to schematic design and design development, help drive code compliance and permitting, take an active role in construction administration on site, and grow into leading our small-scale commercial work. Our full time registered architect holds sealing responsibility, so this role is about developing judgment on real projects without carrying that weight on day one.
Suitable candidates should have the following core competencies:
- Registration as an architect with a provincial association anywhere in Canada, and a willingness to transfer registration to the MAA
- A solid understanding of construction drawings and building science
- Experience assembling construction drawing packages
- Familiarity with code review and permit applications
- An interest in construction administration, including site reviews and RFIs
- Comfort contributing to schematic design and presenting design direction to clients
- Experience with 3D modelling and rendering software
- Experience with the Vectorworks software platform, or a readiness to learn it
- An interest in working on high-end single family residential projects
- An interest in growing into a lead role on small-scale commercial projects
- An interest in dealing hand-in-hand with construction management and trade contractors
Newly registered architects are encouraged to apply. Strong internship experience matters more to us than years since licensure.
