Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Barista to join our dynamic team. As a Barista, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service while preparing high-quality beverages and food items. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a strong understanding of coffee culture and food safety practices.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and food items according to established recipes and standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior baristas, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Manage cash handling processes, including accurate cashiering and daily cash reconciliation.
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
- Monitor inventory levels of supplies and ingredients, collaborating with the kitchen as necessary to ensure smooth operations.
- Utilize basic math skills for accurate measurement of ingredients and cash transactions.
- Ensure timely food preparation while adhering to quality standards and presentation guidelines.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in the food service industry, particularly as a barista or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and equipment operation.
- Familiarity with food safety practices and regulations.
- Excellent time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks during busy periods.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory management.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
- Foodsafe and Serving it Right Certificates.
This position pays tips in the range of 6-12/hour on top of the advertised wage.
