POSITION OVERVIEW
The Field Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and support of communications systems and associated infrastructure. Working as part of the Field Services team, the successful candidate will support customer deployments, preventative maintenance programs, service calls, and infrastructure upgrades across a variety of mission-critical communications environments.
This position is ideal for candidates who enjoy hands-on technical work and are interested in expanding their knowledge of RF systems, networking technologies, public safety communications, and advanced systems integration.
GENERAL DUTIES
1)
· Install RF communications equipment including repeaters, base stations, mobile and portable radios, antennas, feedlines, power systems, and dispatch equipment.
· Perform equipment mounting, cable installation, grounding, labeling, and infrastructure assembly.
· Support system deployments, upgrades, equipment replacements, and technology refresh projects.
· Ensure installations meet company quality standards and customer requirements.

· Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on RF communications infrastructure.
· Troubleshoot and repair communications equipment and supporting systems.
· Conduct equipment testing and performance verification using industry-standard diagnostic tools.
· Support emergency service restoration activities when required.

· Complete service reports, maintenance records, and installation documentation.
· Record equipment changes, site information, and service activities.
· Support project documentation and closeout requirements.
· Maintain accurate records within company systems and processes.

· Assist with the installation and support of network-connected communications infrastructure, including managed switches, routers, IP-based radio systems, dispatch consoles, and associated network equipment.
· Perform basic network configuration activities under established procedures, including IP addressing, VLAN assignment, port configuration, and connectivity verification.
· Support troubleshooting activities involving network connectivity, device communications, routing paths, and infrastructure interoperability.
· Validate network connectivity between communications equipment, console systems, network devices, and customer infrastructure.
· Work with Senior RF Technicians, Systems Integrators, and customer IT personnel to identify and resolve basic network-related issues affecting system performance.
· Develop practical knowledge of routing, switching, network architecture, and IP-based communications technologies as part of ongoing technical development.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Candidates should possess a basic understanding of IP networking concepts, including:
o TCP/IP fundamentals
o IP addressing and subnetting
o Basic switch configuration
o Basic routing concepts
o VLAN fundamentals
o Network troubleshooting fundamentals
· Hands-on experience with managed switches, routers, or network-connected communications systems is considered a strong asset.
· Experience installing, servicing, or maintaining technical equipment in field or customer environments.
· Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
· Valid Driver's License.
· Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.
· Excellent communication and customer service skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· 2+ years of experience in telecommunications, RF communications, electronics, networking, electrical systems, or a related technical field.
· Experience with Motorola, Hytera, P25, DMR, TETRA, paging, microwave, or related communications technologies.
· Familiarity with RF test equipment such as service monitors, spectrum analyzers, power meters, or network analyzers.
· Work at Heights and Elevated Work Platform certifications.
Pay: $66,950.00-$82,400.00 per year
