As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced and strategic Senior Director, Human Resources to join our Executive Leadership Team and help shape the future of our organization.
The Opportunity
The Senior Director, Human Resources is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team responsible for leading the organization's people strategy while providing executive oversight of Human Resources, organizational culture, compliance, occupational health and safety, food safety, and sustainability across our multi-site retail grocery operations.
This role partners closely with the Chief Operating Officer and senior leaders to develop workforce strategies that strengthen organizational performance, build leadership capability, foster employee engagement, and ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will be an experienced executive leader who can balance strategic thinking with operational excellence while creating an environment where employees thrive and customers continue to receive exceptional service.
What You'll Do
As Senior Director, Human Resources, you will develop and execute enterprise-wide people strategies aligned with business objectives and long-term organizational growth. This will include providing strategic advice to the Executive Leadership Team on workforce planning, organizational design, succession planning, leadership development, labour and employee relations, and organizational effectiveness.
You will lead all Human Resources functions, including talent acquisition, employee experience, performance management, total rewards, policy development, HR governance, workforce analytics and payroll. You are going to lead complex employee and labour relations matters while ensuring fair, consistent, and legally compliant employment practices.
As a champion for high-performance culture built on accountability, inclusion, collaboration, safety, customer service, and continuous improvement, you will oversee leadership development, employee engagement, succession planning, and organizational learning initiatives that build leadership capability across stores, distribution, and corporate operations.
You will provide executive oversight for occupational health and safety, food safety, compliance, and sustainability programs that support operational excellence and regulatory compliance. By partnering with business leaders to identify organizational risks, improve operational effectiveness, and strengthen governance across the organization, you will foster strong relationships with internal leaders, employees, regulatory agencies, and external partners.

You are a collaborative executive who enjoys solving complex business challenges through people, leadership, and organizational strategy. You have a proven ability to influence senior leaders, drive change, and build high-performing teams in fast-paced operational environments.
Qualifications include:
Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Organizational Development, or a related discipline. A graduate degree is considered an asset. Paired with a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation or an equivalent senior HR credential is preferred.
Extensive progressive Human Resources leadership experience, including senior leadership responsibilities. Demonstrated success leading organizational change, workforce planning, leadership development, employee relations, and enterprise-wide HR initiatives.
Strong knowledge of employment standards, labour relations, human rights, occupational health and safety, privacy legislation, and HR governance within British Columbia and Canada.
Experience supporting multi-site retail, grocery, food manufacturing, distribution, consumer goods, franchise, or similarly complex operational environments. Experience overseeing or partnering with health and safety, food safety, compliance, sustainability, privacy, or enterprise risk functions is considered an asset.

The Fine Print:
Upon hire, new employees will be placed in a starting salary between the minimum and P50 (midpoint) of the salary range. The P50 of the range represents an employee that possesses full job knowledge, qualifications, and experience for the position. In some circumstances, the new employee may be eligible for compensation beyond the P50 of the salary range. Factors that influence this decision include full job knowledge, qualifications, internal equity, and experience in a similar role.
