At AUTOWELD, we manufacture robotic and automated machines for our clients across North America. We design and manufacture our systems in-house.
We are seeking a Shop - Welder/Fitter to work from our facility in Timmins, Ontario.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for welding and fitting components using the MIG (GMAW) process. This role requires strong skills in welding and fitting, blueprint reading, general mechanical knowledge, and the ability to operate a variety of shop tools and machinery. The candidate must have experience in a fabrication shop environment and have the ability to fit and weld without the use of fixtures.

Background and Experience Required:
- Must have at least three (3) years welding / fitting experience in a fabrication shop environment
- Experience Fabricating from blueprints
- Experience fitting and welding without the use of welding fixtures
- Ability to weld with the with GMAW (MIG) process
- Operate Oxy-Acetylene cutting equipment
- Ability to accurately use shop equipment like metal band saw, drill press and other equipment/tools used in welding/fabrication environment
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs. without restriction and work on your feet for large portions of the day is required
- Computer knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) required
- Valid Ontario drivers’ license is required
- The ability to travel throughout North America without restrictions is required (ie. A valid passport is essential)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Fit up and weld various components from blueprint without the use of fixtures.
- Daily use of shop equipment like metal band saw, drill press and other shop tools for accurately cutting, fitting is required.
- Other tasks as required through out the day
- Valid Ontario drivers’ license is required.
- Having a positive attitude and shows up on time daily is required.
- Ability to occasionally work extended hours is required.
- Fluency in English is required.
