Overview
We are seeking experienced and dependable Dry Van / Reefer Long Haul Drivers to join our transportation team. This role involves operating commercial trucks across long-distance routes, ensuring timely delivery of freight while maintaining safety and compliance standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle various equipment and freight types. Responsibilities
- Safely operate dry van and reefer trucks over long-haul routes, adhering to all federal and state transportation regulations
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed, ensuring proper handling and securement
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, freight documentation, and delivery records
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding routes, schedules, and any issues encountered during transit
- Perform minor automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to ensure vehicle reliability
- Follow safety protocols at all times, including proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to company policies
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for long-haul driving
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts and managing freight handling procedures
- Knowledge of freight types including dry van and refrigerated (reefer) loads
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently in various conditions
- Strong understanding of automotive repair basics for troubleshooting vehicle issues on the road
- Prior experience in commercial driving, especially in long-distance or reefer transport preferred
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening prior to employment
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to safety standards
