Position: Shipping & Logistics Administrator
Position Summary
Reporting to the Shipping Supervisor, the Shipping & Logistics Administrator is responsible for coordinating and administering all shipping and receiving activities while ensuring the accurate movement of finished goods, raw materials, and work-in-process (WIP) throughout the facility.
This position combines shipping administration with warehouse operations and requires strong computer skills, attention to detail, excellent organizational abilities, and the ability to safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment. The successful candidate will work closely with Production, Customer Service, Purchasing, and Transportation providers to ensure shipments are processed accurately and on time.
Key Responsibilities
Shipping & Receiving Administration
- Prepare and process all shipping and receiving documentation, including Bills of Lading, packing slips, shipping labels, and courier documents.
- Verify shipping quantities, product descriptions, shipping addresses and customer requirements prior to shipment.
- Coordinate daily shipments with transportation companies and freight carriers.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and inventory transactions using computer systems.
- Monitor incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure timely delivery.
- Communicate shipment schedules and any issues with the Shipping Supervisor and other departments.
- Investigate shipping discrepancies, shortages, damaged shipments, and documentation errors.
- Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts and inventory reconciliation.
- Maintain organized electronic and paper records.
Warehouse Operations
- Load and unload trucks and shipping containers safely and efficiently.
- Move raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), finished goods, pallets and supplies throughout the plant.
- Package, label, and shrink-wrap products for shipment.
- Supply production departments with required materials and empty pallets.
- Maintain warehouse organization to minimize product damage and improve efficiency.
- Assist with scrap removal, recycling and waste disposal.
- Ensure storage locations are properly organized and clearly identified.
Health & Safety
- Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely and according to company procedures.
- Perform daily pre-use inspections of forklifts and report any deficiencies.
- Follow all Food Safety, Quality Assurance and Health & Safety policies.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.
- Participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of shipping, receiving, warehouse administration or logistics experience preferred.
- Strong computer skills including:
- Microsoft Outlook
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Teams
- Ability to learn ERP, inventory management, and shipping software.
- Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong mathematical and analytical abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Forklift Requirements
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift Certificate preferred.
- Previous forklift operating experience required.
- Candidates without a current forklift certification but with previous operating experience may be considered.
- We can provide in-house forklift training and certification for suitable candidates.
Physical Requirements
The successful candidate must be able to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Lift to 50 lbs.
- Bend, twist, reach and climb as required.
- Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely.
- Work indoors in a manufacturing and warehouse environment.
Work Schedule
- Full-time
- Shift work required.
- Must be available to work rotating day, afternoon and night shifts as operationally required.
- Overtime may be required from time to time.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of inventory control principles.
- Experience using ERP or warehouse management systems.
- First Aid certification is an asset.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Experience working with transportation companies and freight documentation.

Working Environment
This position is based in a fast-paced manufacturing and warehouse environment involving regular interaction with production personnel, transportation companies, and office staff. The role includes both office-based administrative work and hands-on warehouse responsibilities.

Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
