Contractor Onboarding Specialist
Nexhome
Full-Time | Hourly/Salary + Performance Bonuses
About Nexhome
Nexhome is a growing Canadian home solutions company providing homeowners with heating, cooling, heat pumps, water treatment, indoor air quality and other home services.
Our model is supported by a growing network of qualified independent contractors and technicians.
We're looking for a Contractor Onboarding Specialist to help build, organize and strengthen that network as Nexhome expands.
The Role
Your primary responsibility is to find, qualify, onboard and activate contractors in the markets Nexhome serves.
You'll communicate directly with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, water treatment and other home-service contractors, explain how working with Nexhome works, collect required documentation, verify onboarding requirements and move qualified contractors through our onboarding process.
This isn't simply a paperwork position.
You'll be responsible for continuously developing Nexhome's contractor capacity and ensuring we have dependable coverage in the territories where we're generating business.
What You'll Do
- Recruit new contractors and technicians
- Make outbound calls to prospective contractors
- Respond to contractors interested in joining the Nexhome network
- Explain Nexhome's contractor program and expectations
- Conduct initial contractor screening
- Collect required business and contact information
- Collect and organize licences, certifications, insurance and other required documentation
- Verify that onboarding requirements have been completed
- Coordinate agreements and required paperwork
- Maintain accurate contractor profiles in Nexhome's platform
- Track contractors through Pending, Approved and Active stages
- Identify geographic areas where additional contractor coverage is needed
- Recruit contractors specifically for underserved territories
- Maintain relationships with existing contractors
- Update contractor availability, service areas and capabilities
- Work closely with Nexhome's operations and installation teams
- Help ensure new contractors are prepared before receiving their first job
- Maintain an organized pipeline of prospective contractors
Contractors You May Recruit
Depending on the market, this can include:
- HVAC contractors
- Heat pump installers
- Gas technicians
- Electricians
- Plumbers
- Water treatment installers
- Indoor air quality specialists
- Service technicians
- Other qualified home-service professionals
What Success Looks Like
This position will be measured by results, not simply activity.
Key performance indicators may include:
Contractors Contacted Qualified Contractors Completed Onboarding Active Contractors Time to Activation Territory Coverage Contractor Retention
The goal isn't to create a huge directory of names.
The goal is to build a reliable network of contractors who can actually complete Nexhome jobs.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is:
- Confident speaking with contractors and business owners
- Comfortable making outbound calls
- Highly organized
- Persistent with follow-up
- Strong at building professional relationships
- Detail-oriented with documentation
- Comfortable working with CRM and online systems
- Able to manage multiple contractors at different stages of onboarding
- Accountable for weekly targets
- Comfortable learning basic HVAC, plumbing and electrical terminology
- Able to work independently while coordinating with an operations team
Experience in contractor recruitment, skilled trades, HVAC, staffing, dispatch, vendor management, construction or home services is an asset.
Industry experience is helpful but not required for the right candidate.
Training will be provided.
Compensation
Full-Time | Hourly/Salary + Performance Bonuses
Performance incentives may be available based on successful contractor onboarding and activation.
Bonuses will focus on qualified contractors who successfully become active, rather than simply collecting contractor applications.
What Nexhome Provides
- Structured contractor onboarding process
- Nexhome technology platform
- Training and onboarding criteria
- Existing contractor network
- Defined territories and service requirements
- Support from operations
- Opportunity to help build a national contractor network
- Opportunity for advancement as Nexhome expands
Career Growth
As Nexhome's contractor network grows, this position can develop into:
Senior Contractor Onboarding Specialist → Contractor Network Manager → Contractor Relations / Network Director
The Person We Want
We're looking for someone who enjoys building relationships and getting things completed.
A contractor shouldn't sit in the onboarding pipeline for weeks because nobody followed up.
You'll take ownership from the first conversation through to activation:
Find them → Speak with them → Qualify them → Collect documentation → Complete onboarding → Activate them
You'll also understand that quality matters more than quantity. Five reliable contractors who answer the phone, perform quality work and represent Nexhome professionally are more valuable than fifty names sitting in a database.
If you're organized, persistent, comfortable speaking with tradespeople and interested in helping build a growing contractor network, we'd like to hear from you.
Apply with your resume and a short introduction explaining why you'd be a strong fit for contractor recruitment and onboarding.
