Drop Marine designs and delivers small steel hulled workboats and advanced marine propulsion solutions, including our Hammerhead Drive System (a Hydraulic Azimuth Drive) for commercial and workboat applications. We work closely with builders, operators, and marine professionals to provide practical, reliable systems that perform in demanding environments.
We are looking for a driven Technical Sales Account Manager to help grow our customer base, develop new opportunities, and support clients throughout the sales cycle.
About the Role
This is a full-time, in-person role based in Halifax, NS, with regular travel throughout Atlantic Canada and occasional travel to the U.S.
The Technical Sales Account Manager will be responsible for promoting Drop Marine’s Hammerhead Drive System, building relationships with shipyards and operators, and managing accounts from initial contact through quotation, follow-up, and delivery support.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new business opportunities for Drop Marine’s Hammerhead Drive System.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with shipyards, operators, naval architects, and industry stakeholders.
- Prospect, qualify, and follow up on leads.
- Prepare quotations, proposals, and pricing recommendations.
- Use a consultative sales approach to understand customer needs and recommend the right solution.
- Support technical discussions between clients, builders, engineers, and internal teams.
- Manage CRM activity, pipeline tracking, and follow-up records.
- Plan and execute territory sales strategies with clear goals and measurable outcomes.
- Represent Drop Marine at tradeshows, industry events, and customer visits.
- Travel regularly across Atlantic Canada for sales calls, demos, and meetings.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in technical sales, marine equipment sales, shipyard/boatbuilding, or related industrial sales.
- Experience selling marine propulsion systems, hydraulic systems, vessel equipment, or similar technical products.
- Strong understanding of workboats, commercial vessels, or marine operations.
- Ability to communicate effectively with builders, operators, engineers, and decision-makers.
- Experience managing territory plans, pipelines, and CRM systems.
- Mechanical, engineering, or technically inclined background is an asset.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
- French language ability is an asset.
