Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience onsite or remotely on phone. Your responsibilities will include managing patient appointments, maintaining accurate medical records, and supporting clinical staff with administrative tasks. Responsibilities
- Schedule appointments efficiently using electronic medical records systems such as Epic and Dentrix.
- Verify patient information, insurance details, and update medical records accurately.
- Answer multi-line phone systems promptly, directing calls to appropriate staff members.
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including faxes, emails, and lab results.
- Assist with administrative duties such as filing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies.
- Support clinical staff by preparing patient charts and ensuring all documentation complies with healthcare standards.
- When at front desk greet patients and visitors warmly, providing exceptional front desk service and support.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in a medical or dental office setting, with familiarity using Dentrix or Epic electronic health record systems.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology to accurately interpret clinical notes and documentation.
- Previous receptionist or front desk experience preferred but not required.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a busy environment.
- Proficiency in handling high-volume call traffic.
- Demonstrated office experience with a focus on administrative support within healthcare settings.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and external providers while maintaining professionalism.
