Our client is looking for Automation Technicians to join their team and support their advanced manufacturing operations. This position plays a key role in programming, maintaining, and optimizing automated systems, ensuring smooth operations and continuous improvement in their state-of-the-art facilities.

Responsibilities
- Program, debug, and commission automation systems during integration and perform equipment runoffs.
- Test and integrate hardware and software components, including robots, sensors, motion controllers, vision systems, and laser systems.
- Act as a plant resource for line improvements, automation upgrades, and realignment of equipment in collaboration with engineering and maintenance teams.
- Complete automation design parameters based on available plant resources.
- Work with engineers to support design, maintenance, and inspection phases, ensuring timely project execution and technical support.
- Collaborate with program managers and project engineers during program start-ups (APQP stage).
- Assist engineering teams in resolving non-value-added processes post-PPAP approval.
- Evaluate the condition of mechanical equipment and recommend repairs or replacements.
- Plan and execute work efficiently to minimize downtime while maintaining productivity and safety.
- Troubleshoot automation issues and perform regular maintenance tasks.
- Update and maintain PLC program databases, perform backups, and ensure equipment documentation is current.

Qualifications
- A 3-year diploma or degree in a technologist or engineering program (Electrical/Mechatronics/Electronics or similar field).
- 3+ years of experience in PLC programming, troubleshooting, and modifications across platforms such as Allen Bradley, SLC500, MicroLogix, CompactLogix, and ControlLogix (using Rslinx, RsLogix 500, RsLogix 5000, Connected Component WorkBench, and Safety PLCs).
- 3+ years of experience in troubleshooting and modifying HMIs using software like Rockwell Automation (Rslinx, FactoryTalkView, RsView 32, RsNetworx, PanelBuilder 32).
- Knowledge of industrial automation networks (Ethernet, DeviceNet, ControlNet, DH+, DH-485, RS-232, Profibus, ASi).
- Experience with CNC and robotic repair/programming is an asset.
- Strong understanding of electrical/electronic schematics, blueprints, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or AutoCAD is an asset.
- Knowledge of robot systems (ABB, Motoman, Fanuc, Kuka) is an asset.
- Ability to work all shifts.
