About LIFT
LIFT is a registered charity whose mission is to contribute to the academic perseverance of high school youth by offering awareness and educational activities on healthy lifestyle habits.
Our interactive programs focus on developing overall life skills such as healthy eating and physical activity, building and nurturing quality relationships, effective communication, mindfulness, emotional regulation, and achieving goals.
Your Role
As a Youth Mentor at LIFT, you will become a consistent presence within one or more high schools of the English Montreal School Board (EMSB), building meaningful relationships with students and supporting their well-being.
Your role combines youth mentorship with workshop facilitation. Through daily interactions with students, you will:
- Build trusting relationships with youth and foster a positive school environment.
- Provide brief interventions, identify at-risk youth, and respond appropriately to crisis situations.
- Refer students to appropriate school-based services and collaborate closely with school staff.
- Facilitate interactive workshops on health promotion, harm reduction, substance use prevention, and healthy lifestyle habits.
- Adapt workshop content based on the evolving needs of students.
- Participate in weekly team meetings, ongoing training, clinical supervision, and multidisciplinary meetings.
Working Conditions
- One-year full-time contract
- 30 hours per week
- Monday to Thursday: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Friday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Salary: $25–$29/hour, depending on education and experience
- Ongoing professional development with specialized professionals

- Vacation during school holidays and summer break, with the possibility of summer employment
Minimum Qualifications
- Completed CEGEP diploma in Special Care Counselling, Delinquency Intervention, Social Work, or another relevant field OR
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Youth Work, Social Work, or another relevant field.
- Minimum one year of experience working with youth (ages 12–18).
- Minimum one year of experience facilitating groups or leading workshops.
- Bilingual (English/French).
