We are currently seeking a full-time Electrical Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate is hardworking, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality results. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare detailed cost estimates based on proposals, plans, and specifications during the tender period.
- Complete accurate quantity takeoffs and maintain organized documentation.
- Manage and price multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Evaluate and recommend allowances for indirect costs, design variables, escalation, and contingencies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure fair and competitive pricing; negotiate as needed.
- Participate in turnover and review meetings with the Project Management team, ensuring alignment on all tendered items (e.g., allowances and contingency costs).
- Review all final estimate packages with the Chief Estimator to verify accuracy and completeness prior to submission.
QUALIFICATIONS / POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an Electrical Estimator in Canada.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet multiple deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with Accubid Anywhere and Live Count is required.
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, oral instructions, and construction schedules.
- Solid knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Code.
SCHEDULE
- Full-time (Monday to Friday).
- The successful candidate will work in office, with site visits as required based on project demands.
- Additional hours may occasionally be required during tender closings.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- $90,000 - $115,000 annually
