Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day to day delivery of NRCan and Efficiency Nova Scotia programs, including EnerGuide Home Energy Assessments, HomeWarming, and rebate program files.
- Manage the Service Organization's licence obligations, ensuring all program, contractual, and regulatory requirements are met.
- Supervise and support the team of registered energy advisors, project managers, and administrative staff, coordinating workload and file assignment.
- Review proposals, site visits, and contractor selection to ensure quality and program compliance before work proceeds.
- Act as the primary point of escalation for file issues, homeowner concerns, and contractor performance problems.
- Liaise with NRCan, Efficiency Nova Scotia, and other program partners on submission requirements, policy changes, and licensing matters.
- Monitor file turnaround times, payroll deadlines, and QA outcomes, working with the QA function to correct recurring issues.
- Approve payments and verify that invoicing, spec sheets, and photo documentation meet program standards before submission.
- Identify opportunities to expand service offerings (new programs, new construction, additional partner panels) and manage the approvals required to deliver them.
- Report regularly to senior management on program performance, operational risk, and business development opportunities.
Qualifications
- Experience managing energy efficiency, construction, or home performance programs, ideally within an NRCan or provincial rebate program context.
- Working knowledge of EnerGuide Home Energy Assessments, HOT2000, and energy efficiency incentive/rebate program requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to manage staff and contractors, including performance issues and quality oversight.
- Strong understanding of building science principles sufficient to evaluate proposals and resolve technical disputes.
- Excellent communication skills for dealing with homeowners, contractors, program partners, and regulators.
- Comfortable working with file management systems, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
- Previous experience in energy consulting, construction management, or program administration is required.
