Responsibilities
- Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and styling cuts tailored to each dog’s breed and owner preferences
- Ensure the safety and comfort of pets throughout the grooming process
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of grooming tools and work area
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about grooming needs and care instructions
- Manage appointment schedules efficiently to maximize productivity
- Handle heavy lifting when necessary for large or heavy breeds during grooming procedures
- Keep detailed records of each pet’s grooming history and special requirements
Experience
- Proven experience as a professional dog groomer with a strong portfolio of completed work
- Knowledge of various dog breeds and their specific grooming standards
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their pets
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and comfortably as part of grooming large or heavy breeds
- Strong attention to detail, patience, and compassion for animals
- Certification from a recognized grooming program is preferred but not required; relevant experience is essential
