Overview
We are seeking a friendly, energetic, and professional Server to join our dynamic team. This role involves providing exceptional customer service in a lively restaurant/bar environment, preparing and serving beverages and food, and ensuring guests have a memorable experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong hospitality skills, excellent time management, and a passion for the food and beverage industry. Previous experience with POS systems such as Square POS is preferred but not required. This position offers an opportunity to develop your skills in food handling, serving, and cash handling within a vibrant setting.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and take their orders accurately using POS systems like Square POS
- Serve food and beverages efficiently while maintaining high standards of customer service
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cashiering and cash handling duties
- Ensure compliance with food safety and food handling regulations at all times
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the service area according to health standards
- Manage multiple tables or bar stations simultaneously with effective time management
- Pouring Beers, mixing drinks, opening cans/bottles is an asset
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations on menu items to enhance guest experience
- Assist in setting up and closing down the bar or dining area as needed
- Uphold hospitality standards by creating a welcoming atmosphere for all guests
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant or food service experience preferred, especially in serving or bartending roles
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Square POS or similar platforms
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanour
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Knowledge of food safety and proper food handling procedures
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy periods
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Good communication skills and teamwork orientation
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must have a valid Smart Serve
