We are hiring a Payroll Systems Lead to join our Corporate/Shared Services team on a full-time permanent basis. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Payroll and Time Capture and collaborating closely with the Payroll Manager, you will lead a team of payroll systems administrators and play a key role in the ongoing improvement of JDE HCM/Payroll software solutions that touch every part of Ledcor’s business. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
JDE Payroll Support
Support the payroll team in troubleshooting end-to-end, full cycle payroll and year-end processes
Create, test, and document new payroll IDs, union tables, premiums, new earnings/deduction/benefits, and accrual codes
Identify system issues, assess impacts, and validate results
Lead and guide the team in the analysis, planning, testing, and deployment of Vertex and ESU updates
Perform reviews of monthly payroll Integrity reports and investigate unreconciled items and differences between payroll registers and tax forms
Coordinate team to build advanced payroll reports in DAS for internal and external payroll reporting requirements
Perform regular audits of payroll data in JDE Payroll, InEight, and other payroll systems
Provide regular training for Payroll Administrators and ongoing support to the team
Payroll Projects Support
Provide functional support for projects and systems that integrate with JDE Payroll and timesheet systems, streamlining processes to ensure maximum efficiency
Monitor the needs of the payroll JDE system and advise the Senior Manager on requirements for changes, enhancements, or service improvements
Support all upgrade projects for the payroll system
Support the HRIS team in testing integration updates and existing/new benefits in JDE
Collaborate with HR, IS, LR, and other stakeholders on various projects, providing timely updates and adhering to established timelines
Team Lead & Development
Work closely with the Payroll Senior Manager to develop ongoing training and development opportunities that enhance the team’s technical skills and knowledge
Lead and coordinate the work of payroll systems administrators
Support team hires and terminations, providing feedback to the Senior Manager
Monitor team performance and productivity, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions when necessary
May perform other related duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 6 years’ experience in a similar payroll systems role
Minimum 4 years of ERP payroll system experience; strong preference for JDE in-house payroll in a high-volume, multi-company environment
College, Trade, or Technical Diploma (2-year) in Payroll, Accounting, or IT; JD Edwards EnterpriseOne experience required
Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation preferred
Expert-level technical skills in MS Excel (advanced formulas, data manipulation, macros)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with particular attention to quality, detail, and follow-through
Sound understanding of government legislation, collective agreements, and their effect on payroll
Inquisitive nature with the ability to challenge the status quo in a manner that promotes teamwork while embracing the need for change
Excellent customer service orientation and strong ability to collaborate and communicate with diverse stakeholders
Proven team player with the ability to work independently
