Overview
FiberCon Muskoka is growing again, and we are looking for an experienced Fiber Optic Technician to support ongoing FTTH installations and service work across the Muskoka region. This includes fiber drops (aerial and underground), along with field troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install fiber (aerial and underground)
- Complete aerial and underground installations and equipment setup
- Perform basic troubleshooting and repairs
- Work on poles and ladders
- Follow all safety procedures
- Work safely at heights and in outdoor conditions
Qualifications:
- Experience in fiber optics, telecom, FTTH, or a similar field
- Ability to work at heights and use ladders safely
- Ability to work independently in the field
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Valid Ontario Class "G" driver’s license, with a clean driving record
- Working at Heights certification required (or willingness to obtain)
Assets:
- Previous fiberoptics experience
- Bucket truck or climbing experience
- Fiber splicing/testing knowledge
