The Little Warriors Be Brave Ranch is a long-term trauma informed treatment centre focused solely to help children and youth who have been sexually abused, as well as their families. Our program is for girls and boys from 8-12 years old and adolescents from 13-17 years of age.
Little Warriors Be Brave Ranch is located approximately 15 minutes East of Sherwood Park and cannot be reached by public transportation. Candidates must have their own vehicle.
Daily Routine/Responsibilities
- Administer medication and first aid procedures as per Policies and Procedures of Little Warriors.
- Ensure cabins are maintained in a clean and tidy state
- Follow meal plans and prepare as required.
- Ensure evening hourly checks are completed and accurately documented.
- Maintain structure, consistency and effective follow-up on cabin rules, routines and appropriate therapeutic interventions as required.
- Ensure all individual program development that is client specific is promoted, utilized, encouraged and documented.
- Perform additional tasks or duties as directed by the Team Supervisor or Management.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment within the Ranch by implementing structure, consistency and predictability.
- Develop positive therapeutic relationships with the children and youth through processes which include positive role modeling and mentoring.
- Complete daily reports, and daily checklists.
We are looking for applicants with the following skills:
- Knowledge of work with family systems.
- Supporting families through behavior and physical resources.
- Constant self awareness and self monitoring.
- Applicants will also need to have experience working with teens and children.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in a Human Services field (Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Psychology, etc.).
- Clear Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Clearance. ( less than 6 month old)
- Clear Child Intervention Record Check.
- Standard First Aid with AED/CPR training.
- Valid Driver’s License and Clear Drivers Abstract.
- Effective communication skills and crisis management skills with the ability to problem solve independently.
- Must be flexible and adaptable to a variety of situations and children/youth/family needs.
- Must have effective time management skills.
- Must be available to work between the hours 1 to 9 pm or 8am to 8 pm shifts Saturday and Sundays
- Must be flexible to attend mandatory training ( during the day)
- Must have own reliable transportation.
We have 3 openings for the weekend shifts.
- 1 openings are 1:00pm to 9:00 pm Saturday/Sunday 2 out of every 5 weeks. ( the schedule is available ahead of time )
- 1 openings are 8:00am to 8:00 pm Saturday/Sunday 2 out of every 5 weeks. ( the schedule is available ahead of time )
- 1 opening is 8:00 am to 8:00 pm Saturday/Sunday 3 out of every 5 weeks. ( The schedule is available ahead of time)
