We are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Occupational Therapist to provide direct occupational therapy services at our center and support meaningful outcomes for children and their families.
Job Description
The Registered Occupational Therapist will provide direct occupational therapy assessment and treatment services to clients at our ABA Scarborough center. This role offers the opportunity to play an integral part in supporting children’s functional development, sensory regulation, motor skills, and participation in daily activities within a collaborative clinical environment.
The ideal candidate is passionate about working with autistic children, values family-centered care, and is comfortable working independently while contributing to a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial and ongoing occupational therapy assessments.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and functional goals based on client needs.
- Provide direct one-on-one occupational therapy intervention sessions.
- Support the development of fine motor, sensory regulation, self-help, social participation, and daily living skills.
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as appropriate.
- Collaborate with families and caregivers to provide education, strategies, and support.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation including assessments, session notes, and progress reports.
- Collaborate with ABA therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other team members to support coordinated care.
- Recommend therapeutic activities, sensory strategies, and environmental supports when appropriate.
- Participate in team meetings and ongoing professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a recognized Occupational Therapy program.
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO).
- Experience working with children and/or autistic individuals is preferred.
- Previous Experience in pediatric clinic settings is considered an asset.
- Strong clinical reasoning, communication, leadership, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage caseload responsibilities effectively.
- Passion for working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary pediatric environment.
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and reliable transportation.
