Business Development Manager (Construction & Civil Services)

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a driven and relationship-focused Business Development Manager to help expand our market presence and secure new project opportunities.
Position Overview
The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing client relationships, and generating revenue across our construction service divisions.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys networking, meeting with industry professionals, building strategic partnerships, and helping clients find practical solutions for their projects. The successful candidate will serve as the bridge between clients and our internal operations team, helping turn opportunities into awarded projects.
What You'll DoBusiness Development & Sales
- Identify and pursue new project opportunities within the construction industry.
- Develop relationships with developers, builders, general contractors, consultants, municipalities, and property owners.
- Generate leads through networking, referrals, industry events, and direct outreach.
- Maintain a strong pipeline of upcoming opportunities.
- Track local development and infrastructure projects to identify potential work.
Client Relationship Management
- Meet with prospective and existing clients to understand their project needs.
- Build and maintain long-term business relationships.
- Conduct site visits and attend client meetings as required.
- Represent the company in a professional manner at all times.
- Follow up regularly with clients and industry partners.
Proposal Coordination
- Gather project information, drawings, and tender documents.
- Coordinate internally with project management, operations, and finance teams to develop quotations and proposals.
- Present company capabilities and service offerings to prospective clients.
- Follow up on submitted proposals and negotiate opportunities when appropriate.
Market Development
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments.
- Identify strategic partnership opportunities.
- Provide feedback to management regarding market conditions and client needs.
- Help develop growth strategies for new and existing service lines.
Reporting & Administration
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions and opportunities.
- Update CRM and sales tracking systems.
- Provide weekly pipeline and activity reports.
- Assist with forecasting and sales planning.
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
- 3+ years of business development, sales, account management, or construction industry experience.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
- Valid BC Driver's License and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in demolition, excavation, civil construction, site development, environmental services, or related industries.
- Existing network within the Greater Vancouver construction market.
- Experience working with developers, builders, general contractors, or municipalities.
- Familiarity with construction drawings, tender packages, and project delivery processes.
