Overview
We are seeking a skilled Shop Fabricator, either a Journeyman or a 2-year-up Apprentice, to join our manufacturing team on a 3 days on, 3 days off 12 hr shift schedule. This role involves fabricating, assembling, and welding metal components with precision and adherence to safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding and fabrication and be proficient with various tools and techniques essential to manufacturing miscellaneous steel. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to advance their skills within a dynamic environment.
Duties
- Fabricate metal components using MIG welding techniques according to blueprints
- Operate and set up machinery such as press brake machines, plasma cutters, and power tools for precise fabrication tasks
- Read and interpret blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly
- Use hand tools, and other measuring devices to verify dimensions and quality standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols at all times
- Take part in lean improvement to help better efficiency in the shop
- Support the use of forklifts for material handling in the shop environment
- Troubleshoot fabrication issues promptly to minimize downtime
Skills
- Proficiency in MIG welding and general welding practices such as weld symbol identification
- Ability to read blueprints, and technical drawings accurately
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and measurement devices
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations during fabrication tasks
- Ability to operate forklifts safely in a manufacturing setting
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to welding, machining, rigging, and general shop work

Pay: $28.00-$38.00 per hour
