Location: Port Credit, Mississauga (Programs delivered across Halton, Mississauga & surrounding partner sites)
Position Overview (Urgent Requirement)
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Camp Leaders for Snapology Port Credit to join our team on an urgent basis. This role offers an exciting opportunity to engage children in fun, educational STEAM-based activities during summer camps and special programs.
The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for working with children and should be a teacher, a Teacher’s College student, or have prior experience leading camps, with additional experience in tutoring, large classroom instruction, or early childhood education considered an asset.
As a Camp Leader, you will play a key role in creating a safe, engaging, and enriching environment that fosters learning, creativity, and positive child development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise groups of children during summer camp programs
- Deliver engaging LEGO® and robotics-based STEAM activities
- Support structured lesson delivery and daily camp programming
- Manage classroom behaviour using positive behaviour strategies
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Organize and guide group activities for children aged 4–11
- Support camper transitions, routines, and daily schedules
- Communicate professionally with parents when required
- Assist with setup, cleanup, and organization of materials
- Support junior staff and assist in maintaining smooth camp operations
Qualifications & ExperienceRequired:
- Experience working with children in educational or camp environments
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Experience leading activities for groups of children
- Reliable, punctual, and professional work ethic
- Legal authorization to work in Canada
Preferred (Assets):
- Teacher’s College students or certified teachers
- Early Childhood Education background
- Experience in LEGO®, robotics, or STEAM programs
- Strong classroom or behaviour management skills
- Creative, energetic, and hands-on teaching style
Work Environment
- Summer camp schedule (weekday daytime hours)
- Primary location: Port Credit, Mississauga
- Mobile program delivery across partner sites
- Active, fast-paced, child-focused learning environment
Compensation
- $19–$21 per hour (based on experience and leadership ability)
- Mileage reimbursement may be considered for select assignments
- Transportation and housing not provided
