We are hiring a Food Production Operator to support daily food manufacturing operations!
Responsibilities include operating processing equipment, assisting with food preparation, monitoring product quality, maintaining production records, and ensuring food safety standards are met throughout the production process.
Great for someone with strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
Location: Hamilton, ON
Pay Rate: $18.50 to $20 per hour
Hours: starts between 6am & 9am - up to 10 hours - Monday to Thursday (Friday as needed)
What You'll Do:
Kitchen Helper:
- Helping kitchen staff and chef in day to day operations.
- Cooking sauce.
- Grinding meat.
- Preparing cheese filing.
- Cutting of vegetables.
- Other duties as assigned.
Machine Operation:
- Set up, adjust and maintain processing equipment.
- Monitor basic machine parameters (speed, PSI, temperature, etc.).
- Check products to ensure conformance to company standards and clear machine blockages as required.
- Record production information such as batch codes, temperatures, and type of products.
- Perform corrective machine adjustments, clean machines and immediate work areas.
- Complete all batch records accurately and in a timely manner.
- Coordinate closely with processing and packaging.
- Check products for defects and to ensure conformance to company standards.
- Proactively maintains quality, safety, and documentation standards.
- Cleaning and sanitizing areas and equipment during changeovers/end of production.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in kitchen help
- 1-2 years of experience operating equipment in a bakery, food production, or similar manufacturing setting preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends or overtime when required
- Comfortable working in a freezer environment
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 55lbs independently
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and able to work full time hours as required by this position
