** Sahara Rehab Consulting is an OT-led company, with all supervisory support being met by Occupational Therapists.**
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities to develop tailored treatment plans.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as dressing, grooming, and mobility, to promote independence.
- Design and implement therapeutic interventions for diverse populations, including geriatrics, individuals with disabilities, and those recovering from injury or illness.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including GPs, physicians, physiotherapists, rehab assistants, kinesiologists, and fee payer case managers—to coordinate care plans and discharge strategies.
- Communicate with families, caregivers, and other professionals.
- Conduct discharge planning to ensure seamless transitions from hospital to home or other care settings.
- Maintain detailed documentation of patient progress, treatment plans, and outcomes in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Educate patients and families on therapy techniques, adaptive equipment use, and safety measures to support long-term well-being.
- Stay current with physiology knowledge, medical terminology, anatomy principles, and emerging therapeutic practices to deliver evidence-based care.
- Deliver home, community, school, or clinic‑based sessions.
- Manage your own schedule and caseload as an independent contractor.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Currently registered and in good standing with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC).
- Valid professional liability insurance for Occupational Therapy.
- Required to have access to a vehicle with a valid BC driver's license, as travel within the entire Fraser Valley Regional Area will be required.
- Must currently reside or plan to reside in the Metro Vancouver or Fraser Valley areas of BC.
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience (private practice experience is an asset but not required).
- Strong case management skills for coordinating discharge planning and community reintegration efforts.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams across outpatient clinics, school environments, home health services, or outpatient therapy centers.
- Excellent communication skills for educating patients and collaborating with healthcare professionals.
- The ability to work independently and manage your own caseload.
