Balam is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Floor Support to deliver friendly, responsive service that ensures an exceptional dining experience for every guest, acting as a key link between customers, the service team, and kitchen staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Warmly welcome guests, assist with inquiries, and support the team by refilling water, bussing tables, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas.
- Ensure tables are sanitized, reset for new guests, and service stations are stocked with polished glassware, cutlery, and napkins.
- Assist with guest communication, phone inquiries, takeout orders, and coordinating with the Host team to streamline service flow.
- Act as a liaison between FOH and BOH, ensuring seamless communication, updates on service flow, and stock levels while supporting both teams as needed.
- Maintain an organized Expo line by pulling, organizing, and reviewing chits; checking dishes for modifications and standards; and stocking takeout materials.
- Support service operations by running plates, packing takeout orders, assisting with closing duties, and ensuring cleanliness in shared areas.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong communication and guest service skills, proficient in English (written and verbal), with experience using multi-line phones, Point of Sale systems (Touch Bistro preferred), and TOCK. Physical ability to bend, lift up to 30 lbs, and work in fast paced environments.
- Thrives under pressure, attentive to detail, open to feedback, and excels in team settings within fast-paced, high-volume environments. Displays a proactive attitude, always ready to assist with any task.
- Serving It Right and Foodsafe Level 1 certifications are assets. Requires 1–3 years of experience in a full-service, high-volume restaurant setting.
- Work permit: Legally authorized to work in Canada.
