Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounts Payable/Receivable Officer to join our energetic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage financial transactions, ensure accurate record-keeping, and support our company's financial health through efficient processing of accounts. This position is critical for the operation and efficiency of our entire company. The chosen individual needs to be honest, detail oriented, and have expert knowledge of business accounting including payable, receivables, and journal entries. We are looking for an overachiever that can grow with our company for many years. Accountant training is a strong asset.
This role will learn and train alongside our Office Manager who has been with the company since inception.
Duties
- Process and verify all accounts payable transactions, ensuring timely payments and accurate data entry using our operating system (Karmak Blaze)
- Manage accounts receivable by invoicing customers, tracking payments, and performing account analysis to identify overdue accounts
- Reconcile accounts regularly to maintain precise financial records and support month-end and day-end closing activities
- Communicate effectively with vendors and clients via phone and email, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills
- Assist with bookkeeping tasks, including data entry, ledger management, and maintaining organized financial documentation
- Collaborate with the finance team on account analysis and financial reporting to support decision-making processes
- Use analysis skills to identify discrepancies or issues within accounts and resolve them promptly including accounts receivable callouts
- Opportunity to learn payroll and take over the employee setup, deductions and payroll process
Skills
- Proficiency in accounting software is essential for efficient processing and record management
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable and receivable procedures with experience in account reconciliation
- Excellent data entry skills combined with attention to detail for accurate record keeping
- Demonstrated ability in negotiation and communication to resolve billing issues or discrepancies effectively
- Solid understanding of bookkeeping principles within financial services environments
- Analytical mindset with the ability to perform account analysis and interpret financial data accurately
- Exceptional math skills paired with good phone etiquette and customer service orientation for professional interactions
- Accountant preferred
- Knowledge/experience with core is a big asset
