Brent Quarries is looking for a full time Seasonal (possibility for permanent, year round work) office administrator and dispatcher to scale out trucks in our Port Carling Quarry. Interviewing will begin now.
Start date - As soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities
- Assign drivers to routes based on job requirements, availability, and efficiency.
- Schedule and coordinate driver's day to ensure full efficiency.
- Monitor and adjust schedules to accommodate last-minute changes or delays.
- Receive and respond to customer service requests.
- Dispatch trucks to job sites and monitor job progress.
- Provide drivers with route details, job instructions, and safety guidelines.
- Act as the primary contact between drivers and operations.
- Coordinate with drivers to address on-site challenges.
- Ensure drivers adhere to company policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Review driver logs and route efficiency.
- Maintain constant communication with drivers via radio, phone, or dispatch systems.
- Provide real-time updates on road conditions, weather, and potential route changes.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and customer service teams for smooth workflow.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch logs, route adjustments, and service requests.
- Minimal physical effort – some snow removal, garbage removal, ongoing cleaning duties, lifting boxes of tickets, etc.
Qualifications:
- Excellent customer service a must.
- Proficient using Microsoft Office & other PC applications.
- Must have excellent mathematical skills.
- Prior experience in dispatching, transportation, logistics, or a similar role preferred.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize work, and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Reliability.
- Knowledge of the construction industry is an asset, but not essential.
- Ability to effectively communicate with drivers, customers, and internal teams via phone, radio, and dispatch systems.
- Quick decision-making skills to address scheduling conflicts, and delays.
- Ensuring accuracy in scheduling, reporting, and compliance tracking.
- Ability to manage driver schedules, container inventory, and dispatch logs effectively.
- Works well with operations, maintenance, and customer service teams to ensure seamless daily operations.
- Professional demeanor with the ability to handle service-related concerns effectively.
- Capable of managing high-stress situations and adapting to unexpected changes in scheduling or job requirements.
