Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented 310T Technician/Apprentice to join our team at MacDonald Transport Service. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills in truck and trailer maintenance, repair, and diagnostics within a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, a passion for learning, and the ability to work safely with various tools and machinery. Responsibilities
- Assist with the inspection, diagnosis, and repair of trucks and trailers.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and general repairs of heavy trucks and trailers.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and schematics to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
- Operate heavy equipment safely during repair or testing procedures.
- Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
- Support senior technicians with assembly, disassembly, and installation tasks.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs and maintenance activities.
- Learn to interpret technical manuals and schematics for various machinery systems.
Requirements
- 310T licensed mechanic preferred.
- Apprentices or non-licensed mechanics will also be considered.
- E-Test certification is an asset. We will train if willing.
- Experience with heavy trucks and trailers an asset.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, schematics, and heavy lifting techniques.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on safety and quality workmanship.
- Excellent customer service skills are desirable for interacting with clients when necessary.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn new skills through hands-on experience and training sessions.
- Ability to work safely with heavy lifting and equipment in various environments.
