Job Overview
Our client, a leading manufacturer in Brampton is looking for an IT Support Specialist to join their team. In this role, you will be the responsible for providing technical assistance and support to internal staff members in the office and plant ensuring that all IT systems are functioning efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills and a passion for technology, with the ability to communicate effectively with users of varying technical expertise.
Duties
- Provide first-level support for hardware and software issues, including troubleshooting and resolving problems related to Windows operating systems and various applications.
- Assist users with help desk inquiries, ensuring timely responses and resolutions to their technical issues.
- Be very service oriented to support various devices - printers, handheld scanners, computers, tablets, mobile phones etc...
- Manage firewalls to ensure network security and integrity.
- Conduct regular maintenance on computer hardware, ensuring all equipment is in optimal working condition.
- Collaborate with team members on computer networking tasks, providing support for both wired and wireless connections.
- Document all support interactions in the ticketing system for tracking and reporting purposes and ensure resolution.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices to enhance overall IT support capabilities.
Skills
- Proficient in software troubleshooting across various operating systems, particularly Windows.
- Experience in help desk environments, demonstrating strong customer service skills.
- Ability to diagnose problems and perform repairs in a timely manner.
- Strong understanding of all Microsoft Operation Systems (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Office 365, Cloud computing
- Familiarity with computer hardware components and their functions.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Service oriented with a strong customer service mindset/
- Team player with ability to work under pressure.
