Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment for young children. This role involves planning and implementing age-appropriate activities, fostering social and emotional development, and supporting children's individual needs. The position requires excellent communication skills, classroom management abilities, and a strong commitment to early childhood education principles. Bilingual skills in English and French are highly valued, especially for programs serving diverse communities.
Duties
- Develop and implement creative lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and learning
- Support children's social, emotional, and developmental growth through tailored activities
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative approach to education
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily activities
- Collaborate with special education teams to support children with disabilities or additional needs
- Utilize computer skills for documentation, communication, and educational software applications
- Manage classroom routines efficiently, including transitions, meal times, and rest periods
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the classroom at all times
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with early childhood education best practices
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is preferred
- Knowledge of early childhood development theories and practices is essential
- Experience with special education or working with children with disabilities is a plus
- Demonstrated classroom management skills and ability to create engaging learning environments
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with children, parents, and team members
- Organizational skills for maintaining documentation and managing classroom activities effectively
- Leadership qualities to guide young learners and collaborate within a team setting
- Experience using computers for lesson planning, record keeping, or educational software is beneficial
