Vanity Centre is looking for a motivated and experienced Design Manager – Kitchen & Bath to lead and grow our kitchen and bath design department.
This is a hands-on role for someone who can manage the full customer experience for larger kitchen and bath projects — from the first conversation and design consultation through quoting, sales, coordination, installation follow-up, and long-term client relationship management.
The ideal candidate is a strong salesperson, an experienced kitchen and bath designer, and a self-starter who can help build the department while also running it day-to-day.
About the Role
The Design Manager will be responsible for driving large-scale kitchen and bath sales, supporting retail clients who require design services, and managing custom projects from concept to completion.
You will work closely with customers, suppliers, installers, subcontractors, and the Vanity Centre sales and operations team to deliver a smooth and professional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Kitchen & Bath Design Sales
- Manage the full design sales process for kitchen and bath projects
- Meet with customers to understand their needs, style preferences, budget, and project goals
- Create design concepts, product selections, layouts, estimates, and quotes
- Present design solutions and sell based on value, service, quality, and expertise
- Follow up with leads and active customers to move projects forward
- Build strong relationships with customers and generate referrals
- Support walk-in retail customers when their project requires design services
- Maintain an organized sales pipeline and work toward sales and margin targets
Product & Market Knowledge
- Maintain strong knowledge of kitchen and bath products, materials, finishes, fixtures, cabinetry, vanities, flooring, and related renovation products
- Stay current on design trends, market pricing, competitors, and supplier offerings
- Help identify new products, suppliers, and opportunities that support department growth
- Maintain product knowledge and sample materials to support customer presentations
- Work with suppliers to confirm pricing, availability, lead times, and product details
Project & Installation Coordination
- Coordinate projects from measurement through completion
- Arrange or complete site measurements and confirm project details before ordering
- Work with installers, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal staff to keep projects organized
- Confirm site readiness, delivery timing, product availability, and installation schedules
- Communicate clearly with customers throughout the project
- Address issues, service calls, or deficiencies as they arise
- Ensure installations are completed professionally and to company standards
Department Management & Growth
- Build, organize, and run the design department
- Identify and train staff to use appropriate design and project management software
- Train and support other sales staff on identifying design opportunities
- Develop social media marketing, lead generation, Google/local marketing, and promotional initiatives
- Monitor department performance, including leads, close rates, project margins, customer satisfaction, and project timelines
- Identify when additional support, resources, or staffing may be required as the department grows
REQUIRED Qualifications
- Experience in kitchen and bath design, cabinetry sales, renovation sales, interior design
- Strong sales ability with experience managing higher-value or custom projects
- Ability to read measurements, understand layouts, and guide customers through design decisions
- Experience with design software, quoting tools, CRM systems, or kitchen/bath planning software
- Experience coordinating with suppliers, installers, contractors, and internal staff
- Able to work independently and take ownership of the department
- Social media, marketing, or lead generation experience
- Valid driver’s licence and ability to attend job sites

Compensation: $45,000 to $55,000 base salary based on experience, plus commission
