Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician or Restricted Veterinarian to join our veterinary team. The ideal candidate will assist veterinarians in providing high-quality care to animals, perform laboratory procedures, and ensure the smooth operation of daily clinic activities. Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures
- Prepare animals for treatment, including restraint and sedation as needed
- Perform laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostic procedures
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments under veterinarian supervision
- Maintain accurate medical records and update patient files
- Provide client education on animal health, nutrition, and post-treatment care
- Ensure cleanliness and sterilization of surgical instruments and treatment areas
- Monitor anesthesia and recovery processes during surgical procedures
Requirements
- Proven experience or background in veterinary assisting or laboratory procedures is preferred
- Strong understanding of animal anatomy, behavior, and handling techniques
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners
- Certification or licensing as a Veterinary Technician is a plus but not mandatory
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends or evenings if required
