Job Summary
A busy Income Tax and Bookkeeping Services firm based in Penticton is seeking a Tax and Bookkeeping Specialist for a year-round part-time position, with full-time hours available during tax season (February 28 to April 30). There is also potential for year-round full-time employment based on client demand and workload.
The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and gathering client information, preparing and filing personal tax returns, and providing bookkeeping support as required. This role requires experience in Canadian taxation and bookkeeping, strong communication skills, and exceptional attention to detail.
Compensation: $25.00–$30.00 per hour, based on experience.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Canadian taxation and bookkeeping.
- Experience preparing and reviewing Canadian Personal (T1) and Trust (T3) tax returns.
- Proficiency with Profile, Sage 50, QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines in a high-volume environment while maintaining accuracy and a high level of client service.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including professional in-person, telephone, and email correspondence.
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with clients in person, by phone, and through email.
- Review client information and prepare personal tax returns accurately and efficiently.
- Review electronic working paper files and supporting tax documentation prior to filing.
- Provide review notes to tax preparers and ensure all outstanding issues are resolved before filing.
- Follow up with clients regarding outstanding information and documentation.
- Respond to client inquiries related to tax returns and bookkeeping matters.
- Assist with bookkeeping services as required.

Compensation
Hourly Rate: $25.00–$30.00
Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
