Job Summary
Tollestrup Construction (2005) Inc . is looking for a reliable and energetic Heavy Equipment Operator/Labourer to join our Heavy Civil Construction team. In this role, you will be instrumental in operating a variety of heavy machinery and assisting with general labour tasks on construction sites. Your hands-on skills and mechanical knowledge will help ensure projects run smoothly, safely, and efficiently. The ideal candidate is proactive, safety-conscious, and eager to contribute to dynamic construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as loaders, backhoes, excavators, skidsteers, and other machinery to move materials and prepare sites.
- Assist with site preparation, grading, excavation, and material handling using various construction equipment.
- Support the setup and breakdown of construction sites by managing trucks like front loader trucks, dump trucks, water trucks, and roll-off trucks.
- Maintain equipment by performing routine inspections and reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
- Follow all safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and team members.
- Help with general labour tasks including site cleanup, material delivery, and assisting tradespeople as needed.
- Operate farm machinery or tanker trucks when required for specific project needs.
Requirements
- Previous experience working heavy civil construction sites is highly preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment.
- Ability to operate various construction machinery including skidsteers, loaders, backhoes, excavators.
- Familiarity with concrete mixers and other construction tools is desirable.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation and construction environments.
- Willingness to learn new skills related to farm machinery or tanker operations if needed.
