GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Server/Bartender at AC Hotels by Marriott is responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage service to guests in line with the hotel’s European-inspired, modern brand standards. This role involves preparing and serving beverages, delivering outstanding guest experiences, and maintaining a polished and organized bar and dining area. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, guest-focused, and passionate about hospitality.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:
Education and Experience
- High school graduation or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a restaurant or bar setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of cocktails, wines, beers, and food pairings.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high service standards.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
- Smart Serve Certification
Preferred:
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
- Familiarity with Marriott systems, such as GXP, is an asset.
- Ability to communicate fluently in English (additional language skills, such as French, are an advantage).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for guest satisfaction.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours).
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs and handle trays, bar equipment, and supplies.
- Requires grasping, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and visual acuity.
- Manual dexterity to operate bar equipment and handle glassware.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Guest Service:
- Greet guests warmly, provide detailed information about menu and beverage options, and make recommendations.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately, ensuring dietary preferences and special requests are communicated to the kitchen.
- Provide timely and professional service, ensuring all guests feel welcomed and valued.
Bartending Duties:
- Prepare and serve beverages, including cocktails, specialty drinks, wines, and beers, according to AC Hotels’ standards.
- Maintain the bar’s cleanliness and organization, ensuring all supplies are stocked and equipment is in good working order.
- Monitor guest alcohol consumption and adhere to responsible serving policies.
- Prepares and maintains ingredients by following recipes.
- Adheres to proper alcohol handling, sanitation, and safety procedures, and maintains appropriate dating, labelling and rotation of all beverage items.
- Coordinates daily supply inventory for bar and submits orders to supervisor; assists with receipt of deliveries.
- Contributes to daily, holiday, and theme drink menus in collaborations with supervisor.
- All other duties as assigned by management.
Serving Duties:
- Deliver food and beverages promptly, ensuring proper presentation and quality.
- Handle guest requests and concerns with professionalism and a problem-solving mindset.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of service stations and dining areas.
- Ensures smooth operation of bar services during absence of supervisor.
- Serves patrons with food and beverages in a positive and friendly manner.
- Provides information to help food and beverage selections.
- Presents ordered choices in a prompt and efficient manner.
- Maintains dining ambiance with an enthusiastic attitude.
- Prepares dining and or function room by clothing tables if needed and setting decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates, and utensils.
- Protects establishment and guests by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
- Helps guest select food and beverages by suggesting courses, explaining the chef’s specialities, identifying appropriate beverage pairings, and answering food preparation questions.
- Transmits orders to the bar and kitchen by recording guest choices and identifying guests special dietary needs and special requests.
Event & Banquet Support:
- Able to set-up and tear down function spaces according to details provided on the BEO.
- Reviewing the BEO for event details (menu, timing, special requests).
- Ensuring serving trays, carts and beverage stations are stocked.
- Greeting guests and providing attentive service.
- Monitoring guest satisfaction and resolving any service issues.
Operational Support:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining, bar and banquet areas.
- Follow RIMAP hospitality cash out policies and procedures.
- Follow RIMAP hospitality MICRO’s policies and procedures for voids, rebates, and transactions.
- Process transactions accurately, including cash, credit card, and room charge payments.
- Assist in inventory management by tracking and restocking bar and dining supplies.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to health, safety and sanitation regulations.
- Ensure compliance with Marriott brand standards and local laws regarding alcohol service.
Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with team members to create seamless guest experiences.
- Support other departments as needed to ensure smooth operations.
- Practice the AC Brand Elevation mantras in your daily delivery approach with guests and AC family members.
- Actively participate in the daily affirmations stand-up meeting and apply key takeaways to enhance guest experiences.
