To support our vision of empowered young women challenging and transforming the world, we are currently seeking a Middle & Senior School Health & Physical Education Teacher. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Middle & Senior School Principals, Faculty, and Circle of Care team and will be responsible for the development and delivery of creative and innovative inquiry based programming, while meeting the individual needs of all students in the classroom.

Reports to: Principal, Middle School
Education: Bachelor of Education, Ontario Teacher Certification
Experience: 3+ years experience teaching at Middle / Senior School grade level
Health and Physical Education Additional Qualifications
Experience in a non-profit setting (asset)
Experience in an Independent School (asset)
Working Conditions: Office / School Environment, Mac, Google
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Health and Physical Education classes within the Middle & Senior School.
- Provide inspirational health and fitness learning experiences for students
- Work collaboratively within the department and the Middle and Senior School faculty on curricular initiatives.
- Maintain consistent and professional communication with students, faculty and parents.
- Contribute to the co-curricular life of the School as an Athletics coach.
- Play an active role as a member of the faculty by engaging in professional learning, School activities, and special events
- Other responsibilities as assigned.

Compensation & Terms
Annual compensation is based on our Faculty Salary Grid, which factors in qualifications and up to 12 years of teaching experience:
Entry to 6 Years: $62,436 – $95,210
Over 6 Years: $90,962 – $123,876
For faculty, the Faculty Salary Grid includes grid steps that recognize up to 12 years of qualifying teaching experience. SMLS is also a member of the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (OTPP).
