Tandem Truck Driver (Delivery)

Delivery Truck Driver
Your number one priority in this role is to get the cargo to its destination on time and with great service performance. When you arrive each day, you’ll plan your loads and routes based on the day’s orders.
At each site you’ll meet with the contact, complete a hazard assessment, determine the load out strategy work together to unload the product Once your truck is empty, you’ll come back to the warehouse and repeat the process as efficiently as possible. You’ll be paid incentives based on footage. Move more, make more! This role does include physical aspects.
Other specific duties include:
- Load and unload product; secure loaded product per company procedure and inspect in transit if necessary.
- Maintain accurate delivery and pickup records.
- Inform supervisor of difficulties with deliveries or pickups.
- Inform management of new sales opportunities and job sites.
- Double-check delivered items to make sure customers receive exactly what they ordered.
- Notify the branch if behind schedule, so customers may be contacted.
- Perform vehicle inspections daily, as well as checking gas, oil, and other fluid levels.
- Assist with washing/cleaning equipment and loading/unloading of equipment at the branches as and when needed.
- Notify Manager of any equipment challenges/potential repairs or potential hazards
- Perform customer returns & document material being returned/address/customer information on return documents provided
- Provide Fuel receipts to the manager in order to maintain accurate fuel records
- Perform Hazard assessments/risk analysis when delivering to job sites or customer yard
- Maintain clean workspace inside cab of vehicles at all times
- Make sure safety kit is stocked appropriately at all times
- Proper PPE to be worn as applicable
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in commercial driving
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Must demonstrate ability to maneuver the truck in tight spaces.
- Able to follow safe operating practices within our Health and Safety Program.
- Have a working knowledge of the Greater Vancouver Area
- Good interpersonal skills to communicate with customers and dispatchers.
