We are currently seeking a compassionate and motivated Financial Counsellor to join our team.

About the Role
As a Financial Counsellor, you will work directly with individuals and families experiencing financial challenges. You will provide practical guidance, education, and support to help clients improve their financial situation and achieve greater financial stability.
Comprehensive training and ongoing support will be provided, including enrollment in the Certified Financial Counsellor (CFC) designation program.
What You’ll Do
Client Support & Financial Counselling
- Meet one-on-one with clients to review their financial situation and identify practical solutions
- Develop personalized budgets, action plans, and financial summaries
- Help clients understand the causes of financial difficulties and build strategies to move forward
- Provide guidance on debt repayment options, money management, and financial wellness
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records
Financial Education & Community Outreach
- Deliver financial literacy workshops and presentations
- Build positive community relationships through outreach and networking activities
Professional Development
- Enroll in and complete the Certified Financial Counsellor (CFC) designation program after six months of employment
Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in finance, banking, counselling, customer service, or a related field
- Post-secondary education in business, finance, social services, or a related discipline is considered an asset
- Certified Financial Counsellor (CFC) designation and/or Practical Course on Insolvency Counselling (PCIC) certification are assets
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Experience using virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom is considered an asset
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Successful completion of criminal record and credit checks
Work Environment
- Full-time position
- Monday to Friday schedule
- Remote and/or in-office work arrangements depending on the successful candidate’s location
- Occasional evening work and travel may be required
