REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree from a recognized University or degree granting institution and post graduate degree in Behavioural Sciences field (i.e BST Diploma)
- Two to three years of previous employment experience working with children with autism under the supervision of a RBA/BCBA
- This requires the successful candidate to have a valid Ontario Driver’s License. The successful candidate would have to provide proof that s/he has a valid driver’s license upon being hired.
- Candidates working toward registration with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO) may be able to use this role to collect supervised hours if they meet requirements and have an approved supervision plan
Duties:
- Working under the guidance of a Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA)
- Conducting and Administering individualized assessments including but not limited to: FBA, FAI, AFLS, CANS, etc.
- Analyzing assessment data to select and inform appropriate evidence based interventions.
- Developing, monitoring, evaluating individual behaviour support/intervention plans.
- Designing/developing data collection systems; maintaining and analyzing/interpreting ongoing data collection, and under the guidance of a RBA making clinical judgements to revise or make changes to support/intervention plans (data based/informed decision making).
- Supporting the application of behavioural treatment goals and programs into Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) practices.
- Preparing and delivering/facilitatingparent coaching and mediator training through consultation, workshops, and collaboration.
- Providing caregivers, staff, and the multidisciplinary team strategies and support using ABA through a consultative and coaching model, that is, “Support and Coach”.
- Designing and facilitating training, coaching, and mediation.
- Work independently and as part of a team and be flexible and responsive to shifting service demands.
- Work using family-centered and strength-based practices.
HOURS OF WORK:
- Committed to a regular 80 hour bi-weekly schedule that meets the needs of the people we support.
- Flexibility of evening and weekend work when required.
