We are hiring Behaviour Interventionists for multiple locations across Vancouver!
If you're interested in teaching and working with children with disabilities, this job is for you! We are looking for Behaviour Interventionists to work at least 1 - 2 times a week in a home- based ABA program, managed by a BCBA from Building Blocks Behaviour Consulting. It would be an asset if you have education and/or experience in ABA or a related field (e.g. Education, Psychology, ECE, Linguistics). However, those seeking to gain experience and develop a career working with children with disabilities are also encouraged to apply.
Duties of a Behavior Interventionist:
- Implement behaviour intervention plans and provide direct support to individuals with behavioral challenges.
- Collect data on target behaviours and analyze data to monitor progress and make adjustments to intervention strategies with support from junior behaviour consultant/behaviour consultant.
- Collaborate with other members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure consistent implementation of behaviour plans.
- Provide training and support to staff, caregivers, and family members on behavior management techniques.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all interventions and progress notes.
Requirements:
- An individual who is energetic, patient, and dependable.
- Open to learning and have a positive attitude.
- Have good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Have strong play skills.
- Able to commit for at least 1 year.
- Prior training in ABA is an asset, but not required.
- Candidates should be at least 19 years of age.
- Have a clear criminal record or willing to undergo one.
- Able to provide at least 2 professional references.
- Wage is between $21 - 28 depending on experience.
