Title: Health and Safety Coordinator

Continual Energy Inc. deploys cutting-edge, specialized energy solutions for buildings, including Continual’s wholly owned subsidiary, Ark Heat, manufacturing HVAC equipment with a focus on sustainability and modularity. We are currently looking for a Health and Safety Coordinator to maintain and support Continual Energy Inc’s Health and Safety Program, with the goal of ensuring the safety of our team members working in our offices, in our production facilities, and on our project sites.
Core Responsibilities:
- Report directly to the HR Manager, with a dotted line to the ownership team; educating and supporting team members with regards to the company health and safety policy and safe work practices.
- Encourage compliance with the company’s Health and Safety program, reporting deficiencies to supervisors and the ownership team as necessary to ensure compliance.
- Conduct workplace inspections in offices, production facilities, and project sites to identify and report any hazards, working with supervisors and workers to ensure the proper controls and corrective measures are implemented and sustained.
- Stay up to date with Health and Safety legislation to ensure the company program is up to date, both in compliance with required legislation and industry best-practices.
- Coordinate monthly meetings for the existing Joint Health and Safety Committee.
- Track, analyze, and report on key performance indicators for Health and Safety related matters, including but not limited to the Total Recordable Injury Rate.
- Present recommendations to improve overall company Health and Safety performance.
- Lead the organization of training and awareness programs for workers, supervisors, and company representatives.
- Track and communicate training requirements including certification renewals, scheduling and organizing training where required.
- Manage workplace accident claims (WSIB) and ensure the proper reporting process is being followed.
- Lead the incident investigation process should a near-miss or actual incident occur.
- Assist with production and project planning to ensure a safe working environment in compliance with legislation, company policy, and industry best-practices.
- Manage the ordering and inventory of health and safety related goods, including but not limited to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), first aid supplies, fire safety supplies, etc.
- Schedule and execute evacuation drills at all company locations, either annually or as required by the facility.
- Create content to drive team member engagement with the company health and safety program.
- Coordinate company health and safety vendors as required.
- Regular travel within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), with occasional travel outside the GTA.
Skills Required:
- Strong mentoring skills.
- Possess the ability to motivate others.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Very comfortable with Windows-based computer systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Qualifications and Education Required:
- Diploma, degree, certification and/or equivalent relevant experience in the related field.
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- 2-5 years of safety experience in a construction and/or manufacturing environment.
Compensation:
- Salary range of $60,000 to $80,000 dependent upon experience and qualifications.
- Three (3) weeks of vacation.
- Ten (10) paid days off (sick days).

Schedule:
- Typical work week is Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Occasional overtime or after-hours/weekend work required.

- Applicants must be authorized to work in Canada.
- Must have a valid G-class driver’s license with clean driving record for 3 years.
- Capable of passing an Ontario Contractor Security Screening Check (no criminal record).

Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
