Field Training Officer - Mount Sinai Hospital

Hours: Continental Rotation (0700–1900/1900–0700)
Pay Rate: $25.68/hour
Category: Averaging Agreement (Overtime after 88 hours)

Responsibilities:

Lead and coordinate training for all new security staff at the assigned sites during their first 90-day probationary period

Report directly to the CSM and the MSH Security Services Management

Provide supervision of all contract security services staff during the training period until end of probationary period
-
Ensure all guards complete required online training from Paladin and MSH & HBH prior to working independently
-
Conduct formal evaluations of new staff during training — report findings to the CSM as required
-
Ensure all security guards are licensed, uniformed, and have all required PPE and equipment
-
Monitor performance of all staff through the probationary period and report to CSM
-
Report all issues to the CSM and MSH Security Services Management

Proactively identify training gaps and develop training materials to address them
-
Work collaboratively with Team Leads and Shift Supervisors regarding performance limitations and guard development

Debrief all major incidents and create training content to address any identified gaps

Report all health and safety concerns to MSH Security Services management

Serve the Mount Sinai & Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital community with excellent customer service skills

Deliver scenario-based, in-person, and virtual training consistent with Paladin and MSH/HBH standards

Maintain all training records, certification matrices, and Power BI training dashboards
-
Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive information at all times

Support continuous improvement of training programs based on incident trends, audit findings, and KPI data
WHAT YOU BRING
-
Valid Ontario Security Guard License & Standard First Aid & CPR C certification
-
Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella , Covid19, & two step TB skin test
-
Must be able to be clean-shaven for N95 mask fit testing
-
Minimum two (2) years of security experience with demonstrated training or mentorship experience
-
Strong verbal and written English communication skills; ability to produce training materials and evaluations
-
Experience with Power BI or equivalent training matrix/reporting tools considered a strong asset

Legally authorized to work in Canada

Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
-
Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
