Job Description
The Junior Fire Alarm Technician role is a motivated, organized, and personable individual willing to assist Fire Alarm Technicians. This role is the first step toward becoming a certified Fire Alarm Technician, offering opportunities for advancement through training and hands-on experience. The Junior Fire Alarm Technician is a team player and a vital member of the DASC team.
Task & Responsibilities:
- Assist Fire Alarm Technicians with weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual inspections as required.
- Help with service work and repairs on fire alarm systems under the supervision of Fire Alarm Technicians.
- Assist with Equipment Services Division shop-related duties as required.
- Inspect, test, maintain, and repair emergency lighting, extinguishers, and fire hoses.
- Deliver and pick up extinguishers, hoses, and other equipment or materials as needed.
- Other duties as assigned: Under the direction of a manager or estimator or designer, assist with office tasks.
- If required, parts pickup & delivery from various suppliers to the shop and job sites around Kingston and Eastern Ontario.
- General Shop Maintenance clean-up, including sweeping, and any reasonably related duties to the job/position.
Qualifications:
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and a high level of electronic aptitude.
- Motivated to serve and participate in a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Customer-focused with strong communication abilities.
- Experience in the fire alarm industry is an asset but not required.
- Valid G driver’s license.
Pay: From $27.00 per hour
